Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a form of talk therapy that helps people explore how their past — especially early relationships and experiences — may be influencing the way they think, feel, and behave today. In addition to relieving symptoms, psychodynamic therapy fosters deeper self-understanding and long-term emotional growth, witnessed by a trusted professional.
-
While many psychotherapies emphasize symptom management or structured tools, psychodynamic psychotherapy is more exploratory and individualized. The process is less about "fixing" and more about understanding — how longstanding emotional patterns and internal conflicts may be influencing how you think, feel, and relate. This approach is particularly well-suited for those interested in lasting change rather than short-term solutions.
-
Psychodynamic psychotherapy can benefit anyone who is feeling emotionally stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected — whether personally or professionally. It's especially relevant for those in caregiving or leadership roles who often carry the emotional weight of others. Parents, educators, health professionals, and therapists themselves often seek out this kind of work to better understand their inner lives and how these intersect with their relationships and responsibilities.

Sessions are 50 minutes long. I’ll encourage you to speak freely about whatever’s on your mind — thoughts, feelings, dreams, memories, or things happening in your life right now. Over time, the bigger picture of your life and your narrative begin to emerge, and we work together to make sense of what comes up.

Most clients meet with me once a week, depending on their needs and goals. A regular rhythm helps build the kind of therapeutic relationship that supports meaningful, lasting change.
-
There’s no fixed timeline to psychodynamic psychotherapy. Some people find a few months of psychotherapy helpful, while others continue for a year or more. It really depends on what you’re hoping to work through and how deeply you want to explore. I will check in regularly to make sure the process feels useful for you.

Yes. Everything you share in session is kept confidential, with a few exceptions required by law — for example, if there’s a risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else, or in situations involving child protection. I will review the details during our first session.

I’ve chosen to keep my practice independent and intentionally small. This allows me to offer a more thoughtful, consistent experience — one that’s not shaped by business demands or standardized models of care. Instead, the work is guided by your unique needs and the pace that feels right for you.
I place a strong emphasis on depth, steadiness, and the quality of the therapeutic relationship. For professionals, parents, and caregivers — those often attuned to the needs of others — this can be a space to slow down, turn inward, and explore what’s happening beneath the surface.
This is not a quick-fix approach. It’s reflective work, grounded in curiosity and care, and rooted in the belief that lasting change comes from understanding ourselves more fully.
